Best fish & chips of 2025. These were the best I’ve had all year. My piece of crumbed gurnard was cooked to perfection. A nice amount of chips with a fresh salad that had a light dressing which I couldn’t identify but loved. Maybe a hint of peanut in the dressing. The place is on the market, so I am assuming that is why the menu was limited and didn’t match the website. Tough times at the moment for all restaurants but this didn’t diminish the great service one lone server provided. Would definitely recommend and will be back.
Took the kids there for a meal and everyone finished everything on their plate, the chips were proper potatoes chopped up, and the fish was melt in the mouth, absolutely delicious. Wasn't too busy as we arrived early but had a few more arrive later on.
We had heard about this place - the best fish and chips in Taranaki. And they absolutely were. Batter as it should be, and you can never find it these days unless you make it yourself thin and crisp, fresh as snapper and gurnard, extra mussels to keep the old fella happy and a scallop for me. A total find and we'll definitely be back.

Best fish n chips of my life; I'm not joking. How lucky we were to be desperately hungry when passing through Inglewood. Apparently the cat isn't allowed out so we were also lucky to see them but what a charmer. Good wine too.
