A nice Japanese noodle place. You will really like this noodle shop IF you like ie kei ramen noodles with thick noodle soup. Shoyu ramen soy sauce soup based noodles was even a bit rich for me as I like clear soup noodles. This is totally depending on what sort of Japanese noodles you like. Fantastic service with a free bowl of rice & some garnish
Tasty, very tasty, but almost too rich. I ordered a sesame broth style of ramen and while it was delicious it was almost too rich. Maybe I’ll try another style next time. The noodles were really good quality and the service was great. The restaurant itself is a little strange, but entertaining I guess. It’s a great place.
Best ramen place in town, it’s definitely a little innovative rather than purely traditional, which doesn’t mean it’s not awesome. The noodle is perfectly Al dente, in great quality and precisely cooked, the broth is flavorful and rich, and most importantly, u can tell the authentic ingredients like pork bone. Will be back regularly.
No wonder why their rating is flashing high. I noticed this ramen restaurant is open and tried shoyu ramen with edamame beans today. Everything has been perfect from food quality to customer services. Very good price with much portion too. There is a building upgrade going on in front of the restaurant. Hope this does not affect the business too much for too long. Will come back with family.
The special sesame broth is amazing, the kind of broth that won't look amiss in Japan. The noodles is of fantastic texture and like all japanese places the eggs are always on point. I enjoyed all the green toppings the ramen came with, the charsu can be a little bit better but overall was a ramen worthy of its name.Food: 5/5
Broth was really rich and flavourful. Perfect way to warm up on a cold day. I would recommend it to anyone looking for ramen in Christchurch
The ramen is nice with savoy miso taste. I personally love the dip noodle cos I love chewy noodles. My partner had a miso soup noodle which noodle is full of flavour after boiling in the soup for awhile. Good place for ramen in town!
Had the super spicy ramen. Wasn't really super spicy. Wish I had read previous reviews to have known to ask for the vegetable broth to water it down as it was so thick it was unpleasant to drink. Just tasted thick like porky starch water. My daughter's kids shoyu was so strongly flavoured with leek she couldn't drink it. There wasn't really anything I could say about the service as the staff were too busy so took a while. All in all for me I dont think we'll go back
Lovely little place just opposite Nandos. Very unassuming. However if you appreciate good Japanese ramen this is the place to favour. The soup stock is fantastic. The noodles were a little too Al dente for me but I suppose that's a preference thing. Cha siu was tasty but not melt in your mouth which is a shame. It would have affected my star rating if the cha siu was on point. However this did not take away the experience of the ramen. Would definitely go again.
Never get disappointed with Fumetan! I don't know why, their Orion beer is just unreal. So good. It's also very enjoyable to find takoyaki man at weekends. His takoyaki and fried chicken wing tebasaki are just too good with the .
