We came here for blue cod and we were not disappointed. The blue cod and chips was worth the wait 5 years since our last visit to NZ and the blue cod did not let us down it was delish.Food: 5/5
Poor resolving of mistake in order. I placed a phone order to be collected by another family member. When she arrived to collect the order there was confusion which we thought we had resolved by phone. However when we received the order we had clearly received someone else’s order confirmed by proprietor on phone just now. We over paid by $15.80 for their mistake. I have called back to resolve and was hung up on. Definitely not the way to resolve disputes. We were regular customers but won’t be going back unless this issue is resolved satisfactorily. Very disappointed
Come for the food and ... you'll leave with good food. Great quality fish and chips with good selection of prime fillets and good portion sizes. Service was good. Atmosphere basic, but just outside you've got Napier Harbour which is pretty cool. I'll be back the next time fresh comfort food is required.Food: 5/5
Was excited to try the nz interpretation of the frikadel...don't bother, there was NO resemblance to the real thing and portion size? Ordered the frikadel deluxe,a chicken and a beef kroket, totalled around $17-18...wouldn't have been enough to fill up a toddler!Food: 1/5
This is an iconic Fish And Chip shop that was previously based by the Surf Club. It moved to its current location and was sold to current owners. More importantly, the new owners appear to have stuck tried and true recipes. The batter is lovely and not greasy, chips are tasty and nice clean store. when in Napier this is my go too shop
We ordered a scoop of chips at $5.50! It had no more than 15-20 chips. Seriously. Absolute ripoff. Never again. Our local in Hastings charges $4.30 a scoop and you actually get a full scoop! And they’re delicious!
Nice place to be on a summer evening. Cool breeze off the harbour, warm sun shinning while my 2 tarakihi and chips are cooked. Very nice but could be better batter was slightly overdone.
Possibly the best crumbed fish we have ever had! Juicy and generous fillets of fish in a crispy and tasty crumb. The fries were great too. Thank you!Food: 5/5
Not really nice... the price was OK but I wanted to have lunch on a walk around the city and they didn't gave me a plate. They packed it for take away and looked disappointed as I asked for a fork. The hot chips tasted like fish and some of them where fried twice. The sauce was expensive and in an incredible unwieldy container. It was just not a good experience.
The best fish and chips I have had in a long time, and very friendly service. I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality. Give it a go, I will be back for more.Food: 5/5
