Over the last week had a couple of occasions to call in at Fresh Choice Takaka. Best small town Supermarket I've been to in 5 months of traveling all over the South Island only Motueka to go. Customer Service was Excellent, full marks for going above and beyond. Kai and drink Selection impressive. Every aisle covered everything a Family, couple, single person could be looking for. Definitely impressive for such a small Country town, and the best I've been to thus far.
They always have chicken nibbles , and legs. very tastie.
Prices are criminal. Went to New World Morueka. Compared price for price with Fresh Choice Takaka. New World works out $2 cheaper per item. Count the number of items in your trolley and multiply by 2 and that is how much more you will pay in Takaka. Fruit and veges far too expensive. I wish Fresh Choice Takaka would stop selling rotten fruit at half price.
A nice supermarket with excellent staff and a top selection of produce along with great motorhome parking.
Can I just say that I was not expecting the range that this supermarket had! Excellent range of craft beers, diverse wines and good range of cheeses and other deli items. We also found a whole range of backcountry cuisine great if you’re tramping. Right across from public toilets with showers open during weekday business hours - this makes for a great holiday or hiker stop off.

Sad, really sad. Here we are at the height of the summer holidays. The only supermarket this side of the hill is full of customers and the shelves were bare. The only thing that looked sadder than this was the look on the faces of the staff who were clearly overly stressed with the situation. Lets hope the freshchoice management get it together in time for next summer.
Clean and tidy. Well stocked and plenty of friendly helpful staff
Just bought a cabbage for $9.00 and on cutting found its rotten.
