Clean and nice grocery shop that provides a wide variety of items. The prices are pretty much the same as others but they also have imported ones like coffee that are rare to find in new world, countdown or paknsave. Enjoyable shopping experience.
Such an upmarket, well polished supermarket! You can find higher quality small goods and groceries here at a fair price point. While expensive, a lot of the range here is upmarket high quality goods like exceptionally fresh vegetables, meat and fish, all presented nicely with a significant range of environmentally sustainable practises like recyclable meat trays and bring your own containers! The slightly higher price point is well justified here. Highly recommended!
Amazing selection of wines and specialty foods here! The butcher also is very helpful and has some beautiful aged meats available!
Amazing store for items not stocked elsewhere. I always try and visit when in christchurch. However the last two visits I have found the checkout operators disinterested and verging on rude . I think they could learn from rangiora where whether it is pak and save or New world the customers are treated totally differently. Being asked quite aggressively if I want to pack my own bag's _ not great
The international section would be the standout for this place. Also check out the wines and beers, there is a pretty good selection.
CHECK SELL BY DATES AT THIS STORE!! Convenient, well stocked supermarket. However, yesterday I bought pkt chilli mussels, $15, then at home realised they were 4 days out of date!! Funnily enough this happened to me 4 years ago. Returned to the store on that occasion and given refund PLUS new pkt of fresh mussels. Today, after a special trip back to Merivale store, I got a refund but I also enquired about another pkt of mussels for goodwill and inconvenience as before. Didn't think I'd have to keep checking dates at this store!! The nice Assistant spoke to manager -apparently butcher manager not on to report this so his Assistants on. Apparently also there is now a new shop owner Craig. No, couldn't possibly give another pkt of mussels. Interesting as I could've gotten sick!! Wasn't happy as manager previously was very understanding.
The staff are lovely, the presentation of the store is beautiful and welcoming. There are always the products you need and I have had free delivery twice now with online orders.
A fabulous almost boutique supermarket where you can be guaranteed to find most products not found anywhere else.
Great range of GF food..however it is very expensive compared to other supermarkets that stock the same things One item was priced $3 darer than another supermarket whilst most of the items were 50 or $1 more than the exact item elsewhere ..no need for that surely
A very cool shop. That’s come to my rescue many a time for that hard to find pressies.
