I highly recommend ticking one of these tours off your bucket list! whether you're a tourist or lived in NZ your entire life - it is well worth it, you get to see parts of NZ that you have probably never seen before.nThe team are very friendly, helpful, organised and knowledgeable - they were definitely one of the highlights of the trip.nThe tour itself is full of beautiful scenery, tunnels, bridges and great fun.nAlso, you don't have to be a social person to do these group tours! even through you are doing this tour with many other groups of people, majority of the time you are actually by yourself/with your group as you will have your own cart shared with your group only - this is great for anti-social people who still want to do cool things!
An absolutely wonderful experience, nothing but beautiful scenery and fantastic anecdotes.nThe team were super helpful and incredibly easy to get on with.nStarting with a beautiful lunch and a great tour guide like Shervon, you can't get much better days than this.nPlease support this team of awesome people, you will not regret it.
We did the Tokirimu Taster half day, 10 tunnels. Loved it! Had all weathers - very thankful for the blankets in the carts. The talks at the stops were very interesting, and I appreciated that I could hear the guide well I am a little hard of hearing.nAttention to safety was excellent.nFood provided was fresh and delicious. Ample quantity - our own food was not needed on this excursion.nThe shop staff were extremely helpful and recommended places to stop on our car drive home through Forgotten Highway. The views are beautiful.nWe will definitely do this again!
Very enjoyable activity!nnWe stayed the night at the Forgotten World Hotel and ordered the breakfast for the next morning before the trip. The hotel staff was great. The room was spacious and clean, although there was no ac we did have a fan and once the temperature dropped during the evening, we opened the windows to cool down the room. The beds were comfortable.nnThe expedition itself was excellent. There’s something about the sound of the rails beneath you while the beautiful scenery passes you by that both relaxes and enthralls you, and the sights truly were beautiful! The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and all the history behind each stop along the way was interesting and educational at the same time. We enjoyed the meals provided, and the amount of time allotted to them. We were also grateful for the toilet breaks.nnIf we have the opportunity to visit NZ again, or if anyone we know decides to visit, we would definitely recommend the tour.
Had a great time on the Ultimate overnight trip. We went as a group of 7 for my Dad's 70th birthday from Taumaranui to Stratford. Dad couldn't be more pleased with the trip. He worked on the railway so was able to share his own knowledge whilst learning about the local area. All staff were excellent, and our main guide Ray had a wealth of local knowledge - we could listen to him and his stories for days! He really should write a book! Food was fresh and filling, Whanagamomoana hotel was a pleasant stay. First run of the season did see some track drama but that added to the fun : Definitely recommending to friends and other family. Though you do need to be in quick as they book up fast!
