Story

With the promulgation of the Food Act 2014 a large number of food businesses in New Zealand will be transferring from the familiar prescriptive based Food Hygiene Regulations to the HACCP* based food safety risk management system.
This will require new ways of working and indeed thinking about food safety.
Council Environmental Health Officers will be working collaboratively with food business owners using teplated Food Control Plans to verify that those businesses can achieve a high level of food safety conformance.
The new system may seem strange to some food businesses which is why the FoodControlPlan.com website has been developed to help both those in the food industry and Council Environmental Health Officers get the best results from using the Ministry for Primary Industries templated Food Control Plans.
*HACCP means Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points.
