Yummy handcrafted gluten free cookies, crackers, pork dumplings and more!
I was diagnosed with Coeliac Disease in 2015 after a rather uncomfortable pregnancy with my 3rd son. Since then I have struggled to find food that I feel is "safe" to eat when out and about.
These days gluten free food can be found in most establishments which is fantastic; what's not so great is it sitting next to the chocolate cake that has an endless trail of crumbs, or underneath a rack of apple pastry turnovers in a lush golden pastry. As time has gone on I realise that there is such a huge lack of understanding/education around allergies and cross contamination and I would love to be able to help with them all..but for me it's about being gluten free.
The one thing I was going to miss most about being gf was baking. Gone are the days of cooking by instinct, or looking at your batter and adding a bit of this and a bit of that. Gluten free cooking is a science and that for some, is scary (including me)
I have started learning the basic structure of gluten free baking through workshops, online tutorials and a lot of trial and error which brings me to now.
Now it's time to share it with you.
I want to bring you gluten free baking suitable for coeliacs made in my kitchen. We are not 100% gluten free in my house (yet) but I am very particular about my cleaning process and where and how i prepare food. There are no gurantees that cross contamination won't occur, but I am currently classed as gluten free based on my latest biopsies (July 2017) which tells me I am on the right track.
