Floating Rock Cafe

Great little spot we stopped at while exploring the area to get out of the rain. Our favorite wine was the Pinot gris- it was excellent! We also got a pizza which was made in the oven outside.Food: 4/5

Love this place, it's been such a great addition to Kuratau since it opened. The pizzas are delicious, the Lakeman beer is absolutely delicious and the team are so lovely and friendly. Always looking forward to our next visit.Food: 5/5

Stopped in for a couple of coffees and a slice; both were lovely and the view was stunning. Buster the dog was very good company and the service was superior with a smile. Will be back on our next holiday for sure Kid-friendliness: Very welcoming of our child, Buster the dog was patient with him as well. Overall a 4.8 star review, the texture and crunch of the fries was unreal! Nailed it! Could do with a touch less salt, especially as the bowl goes down. The aoli was delicious. The henhouse pizza was very authentic, super thin base, charred edges, and a light but flavourful arrangement of toppings. Again nailed it. The lake man beer was a great accompaniment. Our hosts were friendly and relaxed making a great dinning experience.

Very disappointing. Had driven from Pukawa to Floating Rock, known as a Pizza, Cafe, in Kuratau. Blackboard in car park only listed opening hours. Went upstairs to the cafe only to find "We're not making pizzas today", and loosely indicated "might be making pizzas tomorrow Friday and if so from 4pm" they close at 7pm. Little else foodwise on offer, plus attitude to this fact very blase. Won't be turning up again without checking first. Recommend other potential patrons also ring first to check if pizzas are actually on the menu.

Some of the worst service I have recieved in a long time. Food tasted okay but was cold as I recieved it about an hour and a half after ordering. I understand that holiday season is busy but there was the same 15 customers the whole time I was here. You'd think for $30 a pizza the service would be better. Also the money box is outrageous considering it is 2024.

For the only Cafe in the area, it's not bad. Good selection of local wines and beers but the food selection is lacking and with only pizza and a few other items available makes it a bit limited. The Pizzas were very tasty but as they are made on a flat base with limited toppings wasn't filling and the cost is premium. Overall, nice to pop in for a change but not somewhere you would visit often at the price point. Parking: Approx 5 or 6 on-site parking then free street parking
