Story

Hi, I’m Vivian. I went to art classes and have always enjoyed art as a little girl. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Design majoring in Interior Design with a minor in Graphic Design from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2001.

I’ve always enjoyed all things creative, be it dancing, art, playing the piano, violin, guitar, knitting, sewing etc. But it wasn’t until the passing of my second daughter Christa who you can read about on my blog www.vgrapentin.blogspot.com that I discovered the joy of painting as part of my grieving process.

Over the years I have painted on and off, and it wasn’t until we were desperate for ideas for fundraising to raise enough money for a family of 7 to travel from New Zealand to Cape Town to visit the children's terminally ill grandfather that I decided to do pet paintings. I discovered that I really enjoyed painting animals and I was quite good at it too!

Pet portraits led to request for portraits of loved ones. I just enjoy the challenge and the reward of seeing each portrait come to life on canvas. It is my absolutely honour and privilege to be able to capture your loved ones and memories on canvas as something that will be treasured forever.
