Had a wonderful one night stay here, the lady on the phone and at reception was warm, welcoming and very accommodating. The facilities and services provided were of great value.nnHaving read a number of the recent reviews, I would have to disagree. The facilities were great and on par with/if not better than many campsites I have stayed in across NZ. Thank you!
The lady at reception was lovely. The rest of the campsite is run down. I felt sorry for some foreign people staying in a room which looked like attention was needed to freshen the room up. Dump station locked with a notice to go elsewhere. All toilets were locked & only opened at 3 pm when we arrived. Very unusual set up overall. Its still a place to stay.
Having stayed here overnight I feel the bad reviews are in poor taste. The park is indeed old but it feels like it is looked after with great care. The setting amongst the trees is quite charming.nnThe lady at reception was super friendly, and our toddler had a great time in the adjacent park/play ground.nnThe only arguable downside if any is adjacency to a road but I can't say it disturbed our sleep.nnWe would wholeheartedly recommend!
The lady who checked us in was lovely, but the amenities block was gross. So old and so much mould - shower curtains, soap holder, on the timber. Enough to be a health hazard. Even my teenage sons noticed, and they’re really not fussy! Also one working clothes dryer for an entire park. Was really hoping for clean clothes for our trip home.n* we were 1 adult and 2 kids, booked through campermate and I couldn’t see an option to add/ remove people. I did try to speak to reception but they were closed.
We booked two nights at this holiday park, but ended up staying only one night.nThe team was warm, friendly, and welcoming, which we really appreciated, but unfortunately the park itself is very outdated and poorly maintained.nnWe were traveling with a relatively small vehicle 5 meters, yet we were placed at the very end of the park in an area filled with piles of stones, apparently intended for paving a path. It felt like we were sleeping in the backyard, a storage area, or a construction site rather than a campground.nnIt rained throughout our stay, and the access to our vehicle became nearly impossible due to massive puddles that were impossible to cross.nnThe kitchen was small, cramped, stuffy, and had no proper ventilation. The chairs were worn and torn, there were not enough sink or cooking stations to handle peak hours, and there was very limited seating—especially problematic during rain when sitting outside wasn’t an option.nnBecause of the weather, mud from people’s shoes covered the facilities, leaving everything constantly dirty. The wooden picnic table outside the kitchen was broken, peeling, and in poor condition.nnThe laundry room was also neglected, with one dryer out of order and only one functioning dryer for the entire park. Guests were left waiting, and piles of laundry were scattered everywhere while people queued for the single working machine
