I spent the afternoons here. It's a good place to visit even when it was showering. It was also nice to sit down for coffee, tea, or milkshakes at the Driftwood Cafe. There were a variety of toastiest scones, muffins, and cakes there, too. I had the lemon muffin and an English breakfast tea. There was a new art display beginning this month, this one is for Autusm awareness. They were on sale, and the displays were varied and interesting. Outside was interesting as was the walkway that ran along the river.
Great coffee! Lovely gallery of a variety of artists students or members of the centre I think. Fab gift shop with some fun original things.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The art gallery is relatively small and packed with numerous Maori art pieces. The overall ambiance is average, but there is a slight sense of outdatedness in its atmosphere. To improve, the gallery could benefit from better organization to make it more visually appealing and engaging for visitors. Despite this, the gallery does showcase some intriguing and interesting art pieces that capture one's attention. However, it's worth noting that the prices of the artworks are moderate to high, which may be a consideration for potential buyers. Overall, the gallery holds potential, but with some adjustments and enhancements, it could create a more captivating and enjoyable art-viewing experience for visitors.
Always good for a visit, whether it's to view the work of local artists, or, as today, to view some fantastic wearable art. Give it a go. You won't regret it.
Fantastic selection of artists and artwork. Good selection of originals and limited prints. Highly recommended.
The Friday night market on the grounds was great. Lots of stalls, friendly people and great atmosphere
Nice place for family in a very nice area with good art exhibitions.
I was part of the yearly hospice fundraiser. What a great few days thank you all for your support!
Attended a one day Sewing workshop here in one of the studios. What a great location with all the right facilities for us. Was able to get lunch from the lovely on site cafe and they delivered it. Such a bonus. Thoroughly recommend this place for craft event rooms. A lovely art store but didn't spend enough time browsing the beautiful range of items.
A wealth of beautiful & interesting art & craft to view & purchase. Excellent coffee. Cold water on tap available. Lovely outdoor seating area. Local paper available to read. Friendly, efficient staff. Definitely worth a visit!
