*Edited*nHave just received a phone call from Leela regarding my review and that customer service is next level. She has already organized to get the lock fixed and was very apologetic, this was all sorted AN HOUR after my review, an incredible service experience, champions!nnA really cool and challenging escape room. A real shame about the lock to exit not working though. A bit of maintenance would go a long way!
Edit: we received prompt communication from the ops manager the next day explaining the situation and apologised for the inconvenience, together with a timely refund. He even offered us a free game. Although we won’t be around Rotorua for a while, we are satisfied with the excellent customer support and communication we received.nnMake a booking online and had it charged on our bank account, only to receive an email to say that our booking isn’t complete. So we turn up in person, and the front staff told us that the slot has been booked in person to another group and because the charge is currently pending on our account they cannot do anything until the charges actually goes through. I understand this was likely an error with their website, but that wasted us hours of driving and money being withheld from our account. A totally disappointing experience.
Whilst this was fun for our group of 4, 3 escape room virgins I do have to say that this is massively over priced. $139 for 35min of entertainment.. yikes. No idea where that money is going as the rooms could have been decorated alot more realistically.nWe would not return.
We played the zombie room today and the lovely lady when we arrived help us check in.. she explained the rules and the task ahead.. then we started it was fun trying to solve the different puzzles.. we didn't quite make it out within 1 hour and they let us continue as we were only 2 clues away, and it took an extra 15 minutes.. staff were lovely, room was a challenge and great fun.. awesome birthday treat..
Went here in the weekend and I don’t know what they’re doing but they’ve tried to replace people with these tablets. You have to use these to scan things and find a way to get hints, they are so slow and once you’ve put in the effort to escape it doesn’t matter till you grab the tablet again and scan the door to stop the time. The countdown in the bomb didn’t work so it had nothing to even show. I just can’t believe that at almost $40 a person you waste so much time using the worst tablets. I get what they’re trying to do but it is NOT user friendly. So disappointed, don’t go.
