Story

Kia Ora Koutou!
We are Julz & Em, Em & Julz
Together we create Taonga Maori. This includes pikau/backpack, kete whakairo, putiputi and art pieces. We invite you to look through our albums and enjoy the Taonga we have created.
Usually we weave to order and you will find details on how to place your order below. In between orders – if we are not too busy we will create pieces that are ready and available for you to purchase straight away, you will find these in our AVAILABLE TAONGA photo album. Keep revisiting this album as we create more this is where you will find them.
Each piece we create is unique. As harakeke is a natural resource and no two plants weave the same there is at times slight variations in the size and colours, this truly means your piece will be unique.
If your question is not answered below – please message us, we frequently check them and do our best to answer within 24hrs.
Mauri Ora!

FAQ:
How do I order? - message us with the style you would like, if you have seen one of our photos and would like us to recreate for you copy the photo and include it in your message. In some situations we will use the piece as inspiration rather then an exact copy - we will let you know if this is the case. Having the photo makes this so much easier for us to make sure we get your order right.

Why so long? Can I get it quicker?
The process we follow is to harvest the harakeke, prepare and boil the harakeke, hang harakeke to dry, dye harakeke, weave your Taonga.
Harakeke is a natural product and as such needs to be completely dry before we can post – especially overseas.
We will do our best to complete your order as quickly as we can, if we aren’t too busy, sometimes we can get your order completed faster.

Do you post overseas?
Yes we do!
we take complete care in processing all harakeke so it is able to be posted overseas as per customs requirements ie: boiled dried dyed woven dried
