Time Banking is a way of enabling contributions of talents and skills in a community and operates through a register of time exchanges.
The concept is simple; Every member of our community has valuable talents and abilities to offer, timebanking allows you to record and swap these talents with others in a non-monetary system. Everybody's time is worth the same, an hour is an hour, to all of us.
So you may spend an hour landscaping in my garden, for which you earn one 'hour' time credit to spend in the community, to get a babysitter, dog walker or lawns mowed. It not only offers a non-cash, non-growth based alternative to current economic systems, but enables a more meaningful interaction with the community you are part of.
