Dulcie is such a cute café in Devonport, perfect to stop by before or after a light hike. It’s within walking distance from the harbour and also from Mount Victoria.nnThe café has a minimalist vibe near the seaside, which makes the atmosphere feel very calm and relaxing. Their breakfast menu offers plenty of options. I ordered the scones with ricotta and raw honey—absolutely loved it and definitely my best choice of the morning.nnI paired it with their specialty drink, the Pistachio Mont Blanc, which was a great starter before hiking.nnDefinitely will be back. Thank you!
Went to brunch with a friend on a public holiday and was impressed with the quality of the dishes and the great choice of scones sweet or savoury. I choose a savoury scone with crispy chicken skin butter.nLOVED the fishcake dish which was sublime.nGreat service and the chefs were working so hard to serve consistently great plates.nMy #1 Devonport spot now... Will have to return to try out the other dishes.nPlease don't be shy to offer to leave a tip when settling the bill - great team working here!
We went to Cheltenham beach for a walk and stopped in for lunch. Its nicely laid out and the cabinet food looked great. We decided instead to order off the menu. I ordered the fish of the day and a very tasty blueberry smoothie. The fish cane out with a bowl of fries and a separate salad. It was done perfectly and the fish was in a nice crispy batter. Definitely looks like a good spot for either a coffee and a bite or a full brunch. We'll have to come back to try the scones and doughnuts
What an experience from start to finish. Every dish tasted fantastic, with bold flavours and thoughtful presentation that really stood out. The drinks were just as impressive — unique, well-balanced, and looks great. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, making the whole experience feel relaxed and special. And the smoked cheddar scones… wow. Absolutely unforgettable and worth coming back for alone.
Dulcie is a refined café dining local produce in Devonport, Auckland.nnA lovely waterfront position overlooking the sailing boats that is light, airy and unhurried. A real treat. Plenty of outdoor seating, dog friendly and with views that make it easy to linger longer than planned. A genuinely lovely spot to pause for a morning coffee and mid-morning snack.nnThe Food: The cheese scones are reason enough to visit. Plentiful, well made and exactly what you want with a good morning coffee. The cabinet selection looked scrumptious and the broader menu demonstrates care for local produce. A great example of a café that takes its food seriously without overcomplicating things.nnThe Experience: The open kitchen immediately signals confidence and transparency; always a good sign. The space is welcoming without being fussy and the whole visit felt easy and enjoyable from start to finish.nnOther Note: A beautiful space with a strong sense of identity. Only small niggle as it was busy - team need to be aware not to project that onto the customers - we get it … important to contain any busyness frustrations within the team so it does not impact customer experience!nnDulcie is a great find on the North Shore and has earned a firm spot on our list for guests staying at Brighton-on-Sea. A café worth seeking out.nnRecommended by Team Chic from Chic Retreats NZ.
