I really enjoy going to Donovan Park. Let's be clear tho, there is no playground and not a lot to see except for a pond, ducks n a variety of trees. I find it very peaceful and an enjoyable place to take a little walk from one end to the other .
I was looking forward to this Park after walking thru and around Anderson Park, however I was left a little disappointed.nnThere were huge gates closed and chained and padlock to prevent people axcessing walking tracks.nnHowever, I did find the Farm Track and by the end of my walk around had completed 5.91km.nnThe pond area was lovely and watching the young chicks with their Mums a highlight.nnDifficult for me to recommend this place. I'd say it would be so different on Agricultural Show Day, Eventing and Heritage Rural Day. Other than those days, it's more a thorough fair to go from McIvor Road to Bainfield Road and those queuing to use the public toilet half way between.
Nice pond and water fowl.nnThe write up made me believe that there would be various farm animals and rare breeds. There were none.nnAlso on Google maps it looks like a round walk, however the smaller track around the back is not available for public access.
Great view and so many good ducks!
Quiet location, just needs a few more seats scattered around
