Story

Nestled at the base of Mount Te Aroha in the beautiful Te Aroha Domain is our lovely 100 year old Café. We have stunning views of the Waikato and are located between the mineral spas and the hot pools, so bring the family and make a day of it! We are next to the worlds only hot water guyser and close to the walking, mountain bike tracks and the Hauraki rail trail.
We have an all day breakfast and lunch menu and lovely cabinet food, cakes and slices. We cater for gluten free too.

We randomly chose this coffee shop after soaking in the hot springs nearby, but it turned out to be a fantastic find. The location is very close to the hot spring store, and through the coffee shop's windows, you can see a nearby small park. The decor of the coffee shop is very retro, and there is a dedicated space for displaying the town's history. This coffee shop must have been here for a long time. We ordered the beef burger and chicken mushroom pasta, as well as the mixed berry smoothie and banana milkshake. The drinks were both visually appealing and delicious. The pasta had a great flavor, with rich cheese. The beef burger was particularly noteworthy, as the bread seemed to be baked by the coffee shop itself, and the beef patty was incredibly juicy. We loved it! We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Te Aroha town. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!
Pleasant overlooking the town domain and countryside beyond while enjoying great service and food items. Not many daytime eateries offer two pages of food and drink options but we had many choices of varying meats and seafood options. Plentiful servings and real tasty. The coffee is exceptionally made. Service staff were so pleasant and helpful as well We will be back when next in your town.
Lovely setting. Nice outdoor setting overlooking domain and town. Inside dinning avaliable in the lovely old villa. Clean bathroom. Few cabinet options and good menu with something for all. Good vegetarian options. Service was pleasant. Food was good.
Good location with a view of the domain but limited parking nearby on weekends, after relaxing at Te Aroha mineral spa, had brunch here couple of times, staff was friendly, pumpkin soup was with rich flavor, ciabatta was well toasted, but a huge disappointment to customer service and cleanliness. Water glasses were dirty with lipstick stains, cutlery was oily and with food scraps on. When I brought them to the counter to change, the manager or owner plonked a set of cutlery on the counter bluntly without saying anything. Very disgusting experience. Won’t be back.
Avoid. Another one without PayWave plus has the gall to charge a credit card fee! Food was very average, service OK. Whole place was far too loud. Full of noisy cyclists discussing their exploits at full volume. Maybe they need to shout at each other while they are pedaling. Do they really need to keep it up when they stop to eat?Food: 3/5
Very, peaceful location with great views. It is now my favorite places for a coffee break while working. The views of the park are very restful, the staff are efficient and unobtrusive, the villa is beautiful. There is almost always parking outside though being a small town it is reasonable walk from my office.

Staff is not friendly, borderline rude. The food is low quality, not fresh, looks and tastes like it was directly bought from the supermarket and just heated up, and it’s not cheap! A pity as it’s a great location and a beautiful building with lots of potential! Considering so many good reviews, the cafe must have changed ownership.Food: 1/5
