Could not rate this outfit higher - outstanding group of people who go out of their way to create a quality experience. I did two boat charters and loved it.
Had a wicked time yesterday with the Dive Zone whitianga team! Great atmosphere on the boat, great dives, great team! All were very knowledgeable; our instructor Brody was mindful of everyone's diving abilities and made it a safe enjoyable experience; Ethan on the boat was supervising and helping out with setting up gear and warming us up with a coffee; etc. Everyone on the boat was stoked, wether on a tour or doing a course. Thanks again!
Got my Open Water Certificate with Dive Zone. Really professional and nice instructors. Thank you Julia and Eli, you are really patient and helped me lot. Will definitely go back for other trainings or dive trips :
Very disappointing with this dive shop. We visited the shop and provided details of our diving experiences and contact number. The person at the counter said we will be contacted to go out diving on Monday or Tuesday before the large school group came through. We did not receive any phone call : We were there on 7 Dec and was supposed to go diving on 9 Dec 2021. We were in Whitianga for the week and missed out on diving:

We loved our experience with this dive companie / shop. We have felt so welcome to them and got answers to all of our questions about the trip. First day in the shop we booked the trip and bought one dive watch where I got so much information and help from the stuff which was awesome. At the next day we went out for two dives at great mercury Island. Gear was really good quality and stuff was so patience to choose the right gear for everybody especialy with the wetsuits. On the boat we felt safe all the time and got some interesting information about the area and had an awesome fun time with them. We did not love our experience with this dive shop. Disorganized front desk. We booked for our two kids to finish their certification. They only held one spot and gave the rest to adults so we now have to find another time/place to do the certification. We also went out with them two days ago. Dives were OK but nothing worth repeating. My mask was so foggy that my whole first dive I could see. One of the helpers did burn the inside after and then it worked for the second dive. It has been a bad experience and we won’t be back.
I'm a local spearo in Whitianga. I went in to try on masks. Darrell helped me get the best fit for my face and offered me a trade in on a mask I previously purchased in store that didn't quite fit correctly. Great service. You just can't get that experience online. Cheers guys!
I'm surprised at the negative review on here. I have had nothing but top quality service from the entire team. They are all energetic and love their work and were very accommodating to me as a beginner diver. I have since dived at several places in NZ and Australia and I haven't met a crew that was more friendly or helpful.
