The current ratings for this place are severely outdated, and do not reflect the current quality of this hotel as it seems to have been massively overhauled and refurbished.nnThis hotel has an exceptional old timey charm to it, but has reasonable modern facilities.nRoom was relatively clean apart from some bugs on the window, but otherwise no major issues with the room.nnBreakfast buffet food constantly coming out with a chef in the middle cooking, and options were fresh and tasty.nnStaff were very kind and accommodating.nnDefinitely worth a stay if in the area.
Mid century modern lovers dream! This hotel is having a resurgence after being closed for four years. The new staff are giving it their all and we loved the experience. Gorgeous murals in the common areas and the dining room and breakfast couldn’t be beat. They will be gradually modernising the rooms so best to not be put off by 5 year old reviews. We loved it!
Stunning location, attentive staff if you see them, comfy beds, good shower and a really nice breakfast! This place is turning itself around.nnShame that the whole building is so dated otherwise it would be a great place to stay. It has amazing panoramic views of the mountains and overlooks a very quiet countryside airport so perfect for any aviation geek!
Many thanks to Wayne for enabling us to stay at the hotel at short notice and when accommodation was tight for the area. Premises may be old but everything was clean and the room well appointed and clean. Checkin was smooth. Premises have just re opened. I will certainly be staying there again.
This is a real classic in a perfect location at affordable price.. a feel of legacy olden days..nnSpecial thanks to David for arranging two memorable rooms in last minute notice at 11pm.nnBreakfast buffet is awesome..nnWe can watch stars perfectly from the garden, easy access to tasman glacier, lake tekapo and just nearby to lavender farms
