This is an excellent musium displaying the history of this Dargaville region. It has a vast, well assembled display of exhibits and are very well described. Staff are helpful, and the parking area is large. Incidentally we feel the entry fee is too cheap.
Brilliant museum with friendly, knowledgeable helpful staff. We only were able to spend an hour here so concentrated on the impressive gum diggers area, but should have allowed at least 2 hours and would have spent 3 as there is so very much more to this comprehensive museum on Dargaville life and history. All so beautifully presented. I also liked the enormous Maori war canoe displayed. We will have to return.
Nice little Museum, explaining the History of Dargaville and the Kauri Gumdiggers from Dalmatia. Worth a visit when you’re in the Area and have a bit of time available. Entry is 15$ for Adults.
Lots of old stuffs to see. The museum contains lots of historical items.
