Bought an Indian Scout. This is an awesome store with lots of brands, loads of bikes and accessories. Has a cafe so nice place to stop mid ride. Well worth a visit. Go see Richard he is an awesome staff member.
What an amazing showroom! I love how everything is laid out, all the bike brands have their own space and a really good array of accessories. The staff were attentive and helpful, lots of stock on hand and well priced. Would definitely recommend Cyclespot for anyone looking for a motorbike or anything bike related
Cyclespot has serviced my bike twice 5k & 10k service. In both occasions the team from the service department have done a great job looking after my bike, and it always comes out of their shop clean and shiny; consistent quality of service and customer experience. I'll be back for the next service.
I am going to write a fair review based on my own personal experience and the facts across the timeline of using their service I looked on here to see many of the reviews either being disheartening or being very positive reviews. I found it hard to grasp a definitive idea if I should use the service or not. Giving a benefit of a doubt I decided to use this service. THE PHONE CALL: I called up and asked to book a service. For one person this would be sweet and simple. Tell them what you want and what is wrong and they will do the rest. It was booked within a reasonable date from when I called. I feel like to new riders 1 and a bit years it is very intimidating not knowing what to expect and felt some pressure on knowing what I need to do, it would have been nice for easy questions to ask what may be wrong with the motorbike as sometimes new riders have no clue. However they provided a fair direct easy communication. THE MOTORCYCLE SERVICE I arrived within the morning and handed over my keys. Now frustration began when I expected my motorcycle to be done in approx. 3-4 hours of which murmurs were communicated to me. I became very upset when I dropped in my bike around 9am and by 1-2pm I was still waiting for a call to come back and pick up my bike. I ended up calling cycle spot service and was explained that for some reason one of the sprockets front or back has gone missing/or did not arrive. Of which from my understanding I believed all parts arrived and my motorcycle repairs would be done in one day. I became frustrated. Everyone has work and schedules to fit around and I was highly stressed due to the bike desperately needing this work done. It was decided I would pick up the bike later and would have to bring it back another day. When I arrived they found the sprocket of which I decided to ask if they could chuck it on today. In end it was completed. The total work they did was. Basic service, seeing why my heat grips were not working of which I instructed that one of the wires on one side is disconnected, however they found another issue and fixed that without fixing the issue I mentioned, Changing sprockets and chain, changing back tire. They kindly added the curiosity of giving the bike a lube and clean wipe. THE RESULT Solid Service and did everything they needed to. Felt a bit annoyed that the soldering of the wires was not completed. I am grateful they found the other problem with it though and fixed that. Was a good service. CUSTMOUR SERVICE Very kind and friendly people inside the store. Of course the store people will lean towards the products they have in store however I found that they were reasonable opportunity to competing products. Super energetic and was very pleased to chat with them. One of them was wiping helmets and even felt happy enough to chat with me for a while, when my motorcycle was still in service it made the long wait feel less short and appreciated. THE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE I was very frustrated when I was waiting for cycle spot to call me back 3-4 hours after I dropped it off. I would have liked them to call me and communicate to me the issue - sprocket is missing. I would have liked to have known it may have taken a couple days if the sprocket did not arrive that day. And I would have liked clear and definitive decision of when something will be done or if parts are here, etc, etc. Let us know what else you will do to the bike so we as owners are happy with it. Again I understand from business wise this can be difficult with many moving parts. I believe increased communication with the customer would make the overall experience less negatively emotional. The cost is another thing to be aware of although motorcycles are expensive My poor student bank account. 150 dollars an hour for labor is a lot.
Bought Ducatis, Indians a Norton & a lot of gear from Cyclespot over many years, I’ve generally had a great experience. The new building is awesome great showroom heaps of parking. Laurie has run the service dept for a long time & always an absolute legend to deal with
Great motorcycle shopping. They have some awesome motorcycles and the staff are so helpful and friendly. I met Richard there who had sold my first bike to me many years ago. He recognized my little dog!
Consistently outstanding experience every single time I've been there. The team are very switched on incredibly helpful. My service's there have been super slick, the product range is fantastic. Even the coffee is great!!
Came in here to fit out a couple of bikes for a trip around NZ, needed a new front tyre on one bike and a chain adjustment on the other and the guys managed to get us in straight away. Grabbed a coffee in their cafe and within an hour the bikes were done - the prices were really reasonable. Thanks for the help
I took my Yamaha MT-10SP in for it first annual servicing after buying the bike brand new last year from Cyclespot. I dealt with Laurie the servicing manager and who was very accomodating, friendly and knowledgable. I found the whole booking process very easy and the bike was ready 1.5 hrs before the agreed time. I noticed the bike had been washed as well and as a VIP customer the discount 10% had already been included, the bill amount was as expected new S22 tyres as well, and I was also told over the phone the amount which I thought was a nice touch. I must say the new premises at Wairau Rd is amazing. I also chatted to the other staff who were really nice genuine people, respectful and friendly and seemed very happy to be employed there which is always a sign of a well run business. I will have no hesitation buying another new bike from Cyclespot in the future.
Adding to existing comment after reply. I went to the store and explained the loss of the clip and, was told no such part was supplied by the manufacturer. It was recommended that I call Kreiga myself. I asked how to get a hold of them and was told to 'Google it'. Which I did, but rang back when I could only find a UK reference. The guy I got this time was helpful and called back within the hour and I agreed to buy the four pack which would arrive the next day. However, the thought of paying 45% of the original purchase price for this clip just got to me. It is the manufacturers choice to package parts in fours for a product that uses two, but the retailer does well out of this policy too. Original: Bought a Kreiga OS-Base for $180, less than a year ago. Lost one of two rear clips for it. You expect to get stung for the replacement, but they want $80 for 4 clips. That's nearly half again. Even though it costs me the 2 saddle bags I bought with it, I'm cutting my losses and dumping the lot. I'll get something similar from someone who cares a bit and will support their products, even with small customers.
