Lovely place to stop for lunch, with indoor, outdoor seating areas. $15.00 lunch options are varied.nCan get steak egg and chips for $18.00. meals were large. Staff are lovely very friendly. Will definitely stop there again.nHighly recommend.
I'm actually really impressed with this pub. Decent pub meals for a great price and good portion sizes. The $15 lunch meals are really good value for money, and cooked well. You wouldn't even find this kind of value in Christchurch.nnEdit: I found myself coming here again on the way back to Christchurch, rather than eating in Hammer because the meals are just so good! Haven't found good honest pub meals like this in Christchurch yet. It's what it says on the tin, no added extras, you get what is written on the menu which I admire. Very good, will come time and time again

Traditional nz pub. We didn't try the food, but the beer was good. Friendly service and locals.nThe hotel kindly allows self contained campers in the car park overnight. Thanks for that.
The food was delicious, as was the service. I heartily recommend this establishment for any solid and liquid commendable needs you might have whilst travelling the North Canterbury area.
