We picked cherries here before heading to Wanaka. Must visit as the scenic drive between these two cities is amazing.
Absolutely beautiful town. Friendly people. Views are breathtaking. Old town museum area is interesting and a relaxing place to sit and take in the lake view. Definitely recommend stopping here.
There were certainly plenty of people going to see this tree the day I ran past. Now that I know what all the fuss is about and THAT award winning photographic moment with the tree it makes sense. It highlights the sensational panorama and with the right lighting, at sunset perhaps, you will quite possibly be presented with a beautiful view across the lake with the stunning mountains in the distance across the water.
A nice spot for a couple of days on our trip down south
It was stunning. Quite a small town in the middle of almost nowhere. I loved how the conservation team planted small plants and they were all enclosed in paper covers. The water here is super blue and I would highly recommend visiting.
