My go to place for everything. New store looks great! Brilliant selections at both the deli and bakery which are both manned. Nice layout through the vegetable and fruit section to the meats. Having a section just for alternative foods, eg dairy free is brilliant, although it would be great to have a bit more option of brands. Always friendly and helpful staff.
Big and new lovely looking inside,prices on some items are a bit costly,no doubt an increase over time,parking limited and congested due to construction,I think a new carpark where the old countdown was,PNSave still my goto shop.
Nice Friendly people in Gizzy Countdown. Nice fresh looking Supermarket with heaps of parking. Good Specials. Love the Much Moore Rum & Rasin Ice Cream. Hard to find it in Wellington 4 a 2Litre @ $4.50
Loved this shop, clean..stock a tad low but all I needed.. had tried pac & save which was too cluttered for me.. staff helpful.. plenty of parking. Off 2 roads.
The reason I give a 5 star. The carpark is amazing so much space, you can get out 3 ways so thats handy. I think the shop layout is great. Not cramped, really flowly, this countdown has heaps of self service checkouts, and the staff manning them, we're helpful and friendly. 2- when I come to Gisborne, I shop here. That says everything, given I'm a really a pak n dav girl.
What new can be said about Countdown. I'm amazed at the prices in Kiwi supermarkets. Let Aldi or Lidl open stores then the prices will be more competitive.
What can I say is that it's a big bright new building, prices are too costly for me, seeing as I received a voucher for Countdown, is only why I shopped there. Pac n Sav or SuperValue is where I usually shop.
More variety than Pak n save but worth it if your willing to spend that extra dollar.
In-store shopping is a breeze, easy layout of shelves, staff are approachable and helpful, parking and trolley return are very close to the store. On-line shopping is very convenient as an option, remember to clearly detail what alternative item you want as a replacement if stocks are low.
This is a shout out to checkout lady Judy working at 12pmish today when I went through. Bubbly, happy, thoughtful packer when you don't even get that in a lot of supermarkets today. Anyway 2 weeks ago I went through and a can of sprite rolled off counter, imagine explosion as next person behind me managed to pick it up BUT, spurted out all around, I asked for a mop etc, but Judy, same lady said its ok -" I felt stink" and she went from behind counter to get the roll of wipeones and start wiping and then the ever so friendly security guard person helped her, no frustration, just cruised through the wipeup etc, and then continued to process my remaining groceries through. This woman Judy, I do hope I have her correct name as I made a point of looking at name tag today, Judy you are a legend. Thank you.
