We loved it, the hot pools have a good temperature for everyone with 3 different ones. Showers are lovely warm and hairdryer provided. The big pool i a little dated but it changes nothing. Cooked some dinner in the natural hot oven and it was amazing and so easy. Sweet playground for kids too, close to restaurants and a cool playground. We all enjoyed with 3 little kids and would definitely come back.
Stayed in Motorhome - Park was just what we needed after being on the road all day. Arrived and received warm and friendly greeting. Pools were great and having them at different temperatures kept everyone in the family happy. The camp kitchen was spotless as were the toilets and shower blocks. Only stayed for one night due to travel commitments but will definitely be back next visit to NZ and stay a bit longer and hopefully get to check out the hot beach.
We stayed in a two bed apartment in January. I had advised reception that only one window opened with a security latch and it wasn’t ok as being out all day and coming home the rooms were so hot and only one fan in the lounge that didn’t move and couldn’t open windows due to the lake flies. I requested another fan. They didn’t have one for me then told me I should leave windows wide open - I said and if my gear was stolen who was responsible? I was not happy. I tried to get in contact with the manager and they have not got in touch with me!!! It’s been 3 weeks. Useless and all I wanted was some sort of credit as I paid for a room that should be fully functioning at that price but we didn’t get it. Terrible customer service here!!!! Do not recommend You did not get get me a fan when I asked for one then the next day you told me you were going to leave one but decided it wasn’t warm enough so didn’t leave it out for me. I am not leaving windows open all day - I have no idea who is around the motel and may want to jump in a window and see what a in my bags! Usually you can leave a window open when you are in a room and not feel like someone will come in. Didn’t feel safe and once home at night was when you can t open windows due to like flies!! All other rooms had security latches - I looked! Your customer service is terrible! A Simple apology would have been nice!
We stayed in room 22. Room was smaller then expected, thought we had a shower in our room but it was fine, the shower pressure was really good. Hard to sleep with noisy floor. Room was really warm & the environment/staff were really good. We will come again thank you
Good place, clean showers and toilets. Big kitchen to cook and eat outside. Has 2 hot pools and 1 cold. Washer 4$, dryer 4$. It is a little far from the center but is a 20 min walk. Recommend !Rooms: 5/5
Cosy, clean and close to the lake. The unit has everything that you need, kitchen ware, shampo, soap, towels, heater, hot water and also the hotel has thermal spas with different temperatures. Nice time, I will certainly come back!
I stayedin like 15, maybe more, paid campsites before during my stay in NZ and unfortunately this one was most disappointing to me. I've read the opinions here and the owners always find an explanation for every complaint but the fact there is an explanation for everything doesn't mean it should be used. First when we came we realized we have to park outside the camping and do the check in first. I don't know about how dangerous the area is but it's the first time I've seen something like this I swear. This doesn't make people fee more safe, they rather feel unwelcome. And the car registration form you have to put on your vehicle dashboard or your vehicle will be towed away at your expense? Srsly? As mentioned in the other opinions, there seem to be always some showers and some toilets closed. This made me wait for a shower twice - once after the hot tub and in the morning. They're average when it comes to cleaning. The hot tubs are a nice addition but they're old and the paint is falling off... But the worst thing in there was the fact you really have to pay for wifi xD guys, we're in 2022, I get free wifi in every single restaurant i go to and you make me pay 10$ for unlimited wifi after I use the free 300 MB? This is called greediness that's all cuz i haven't heard of a company delivering internet where you have to pay per usage. If your company does this, change it. But don't make travelers pay you for wifi after they've already paid 50$ to stay at a powered site. Feels awful, really. Especially that you didn't mention that at the check in.
Of the 6 parks we stayed at in nz, this wasn’t my favourite. You had to search for the facilities only found the hot pools as we were leaving; the kitchen was only open for limited times AND you had to pay to use the oven; the $10 deposit for DVDs was each dvd very weird as they were very very old; $40 deposit on the table tennis bats which we didn’t have at the time; the walk to the lake was completely flooded and our shoes got soaked; a few showers and toilets were closed read a review 2mths ago and same; it was just a bit too rustic. Big love to the lady who had cats for us to pat
Very Disappointed with this park and would not stay again. It is very old and not well maintained. Was clean though. Due to its age it was designed for small caravans and large vans will not find it easy to manoeuvre. I was also shocked to see a what appeared to be an asbestos cement sheet in the mens toilet. While it was not damaged and was painted, I would not have expected it to be in a public area in this day and age. The other issue is they expect you to park on the road while you book in due to an extremely narrow driveway. They may be cheap, but look out for the extra costs.
Very convenient and affordable. My go to accommodation when I come to Rotorua. Has hot pools, trout stream, TV room etc, it's awesome nice and close to luge and town
