Fantastic and cheap price. Absolutely an ice cream legend. Have been there probably 100 times. The waffle cone is very popular, but I normally get a regular cone. Even just a kiddy cone is massive. There are many flavours, among which I pick the Mocha Fudge as the best. Maple Walnuts, Cinnamon Dough, Cookies and Cream, Salted Caramel flavours are also very yum. Perfect to have one for a beach walk.
Came from a restaurant where the dessert menu was boring and expensive. Got this delight after a 5 minute wait. Kahlua kiss! Three flavours of ice cream rec maple walnut!, Cream, nuts and Kahlua. Soooo good. Eaten on the beach at sunset. All for $11.50
One of famous ice cream shops in Mount Maunganui, it is a place must visit after climbing up the mountain, a little treat for all the hard work!

this place is a little iconic up here in auckland, known for its characteristic rude treatment of customers, so was definitely a lil excited to finally try it. However, staff were polite and shakes/ice cream delicious. Alas, maybe because we were adults and not children. Maybe next time!
i ordered a small waffle cone for $6, ate half a scoop of it and then found a hair in it. I took it back— come completely intact— and they just gave me a single scoop in a cup when I obviously bought the waffle cone for the danish waffle. Didn’t let me have a refund or a half scoop in a cone etc. or even let me pay for a new waffle cone because I’d “eaten most of it” when the cone was almost full. I hate to write this review because the icecream and service was quite good!
Hi there, I'm not too sure who I should be talking to about this, but my partner and I visited Copenhagen Cones Mount Maunganui today at around midday. While we were in queue, one of the staff, who after the incident mentioned she was the manager Multi coloured hair is the best description I can give of this lady, was unbelievably rude to not only her staff, but the customers in queue as well. She was ordering both staff and customers in a raised, negative tone/voice and visibly made everybody in the store, both staff and customers, incredibly uncomfortable. She said with a raised, controlling, and condescending manner that the customers were in the wrong place and ordering incorrectly, when simply trying to order an ice cream. The manager was belittling to the customers and other members of staff. After this incident, it was obvious that everybody in the store was uncomfortable, with several people leaving without ordering anything. The customer who was originally treated so poorly eventually got her ice creams, and mentioned to the manager that the way she had treated her was unacceptable and completely unprofessional. The manager then said, and I quote: "I can speak to MY staff and MY customers however I want". And stood there with a grin ear to ear as she said this. The customer then understandably angrily left the store. After this all went down, the manager stood there smiling as the rest of the store went silent, not knowing how to respond to this. The manager has no idea how rude she was to not only her staff but the customers too. She never once apologised or acknowledged that she was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I'm only writing this as it was an awful experience and it clearly made everybody there uncomfortable. To the point that after this happened, several people who were waiting in queue left. I don't think this lady is at all fit to be a manager, or even an employee here.
I have been visiting this store for 25+ years. When visiting from out of town I always make a stop here. If you dont mind standing outside in the que for a long period of time during summer in direct sun then the ice cream and waffle cones are well worth it.
This place is locally famous in the area, but I'm sorry to say I mostly disliked it. The self-made cones are nice, but the shape makes the ice cream melt more quickly, and the quality of the ice cream itself isn't very good the lemon-lime I had was in fact terrible, the worst I've ever had. It's a lot of fancy dress-up stuff like extra sauces, nuts, cream, soft-serve, fudge, etc. But I'd enjoy actual good ice cream more. If you like the stuff around the ice cream a lor, rhis might be for you. But if you like actually good ice cream, this is at best average, if not a bit bad.
