I had my hair cut and coloured by Chantell, and it was a great experience. Easily the best haircut I’ve had with my curls. She knew exactly what she was  doing and catered to my specific hair. She was super gentle and explained everything she was doing so I knew what was going on. I would highly reccomend, she’s friendly, experienced and made me feel super comfortable. The studio is absolutely beautiful, clean, tidy and comfortable. The whole team there was super lovely and it was very obvious they knew what they were doing.Services:&nbsp;Updos

First time at this salon and it was great from start to finish! had a warm welcome when I came in, staff were friendly and attentive. Had a lovely head massage that wasn’t rushed, and my hair turned out exactly how I wanted it! I am taking this opportunity to share my lovely experience today at Common Thread. I have grey shoulder length curly hair which hadn't been cut for three years so it was badly in need of some shaping and TLC! I also was not really sure about products that would be best for my hair type. I was very lucky to have Chantell as my stylist. She listened to what my requirements were and made several suggestions as to how we were going to achieve the desired outcome. Even as she was styling my hair she was telling me what she was doing and products used which made me very comfortable about the experience. I would have no hesitation recommending Common Thread and Chantell as your stylist. You will not be disappointed.

I had not had a hair cut since starting my curly hair journey 20 months ago as I was afraid it would go so wrong. Chantell was amazing! She listened carefully to what I was wanting, explained what she was doing through the entire process and showed a lot of patience carefully moving and twirling the curls as she cut. I want to recommend Chantell for an amazing cut with my curly hair.  It was frizzy and heavy and she has transformed my hair. It's shorter now but the curls sit so well which has never happened before. It was so frizzy and the cut has gotten rid of the frizzness. Her tips and advice was amazing. Got my first curly girl hair cut from Chantell here. She did such an amazing job at shaping my hair and showing me how to get the most out of my hair at home and showed me what kind of products would best suit my hair. It has been years since I'd had a decent hair cut.. life, covid, being a busy mum of 3, something always came first. So when I had the chance to actually go to  Common Thread to see Chantell, I leapt at the chance! My hair was frizzy, with curls that lacked definition, and dry spindly split ends to boot. When I heard Chantell was a curly hair specialist, I knew she would be perfect for the job! While cutting my hair she advised me on how to keep my curls looking good with plenty of tips and information. The end result she achieved was fresher, bouncier, more hydrated curls and a revamped style. She definitely delivered and the products she used smelt amazing! I left feeling renewed and revitalized! Curly haired people rejoice!! We finally have an amazing hair dresser who understands and caters for curly hair right in the heart of Pukekohe.  Chantell has just returned from the UK and is so good with curly hair!! She was very welcoming, made me feel super comfortable and explained what she was doing to my hair and why. She also made it super easy for me to follow so that I can easily look after my hair at home without all the fuss. She listened and adjusted to my needs and offered some great tips that I can follow.  The salon team were also very welcoming, offered me tea, coffee, or water when I came in! Common Thread is also a sustainable salon a huge plus! and uses the yummy smelling Davines range of haircare products. The range used on me felt lovely, light and didn’t weigh my hair down like other products.  My hair feels super amazing and it’s refreshing to have all my natural waves and curls back! I’m looking forward to maintaining this and going back in soon for my next cut with Chantell.

Sara Reyes did an amazing job of my hair! Definitely the best hair cut I have ever had. I had waist length, thick hair with curls underneath. Sara cut me a beautiful style just past my shoulders that accentuated my natural curl, with curtain bangs. She now has a client for life!
