This place is an easy 5 star for me. All the times we went here we got great food and great service.nnThe lamb roast special is a must for first timers.nnI had a cauliflower salad of some sort on a laidback Sunday and it was exactly what I wanted without knowing I needed it.nnAnd then there’s $1 chicken every Fridays! It is a definite value for money. Order some fries or salad on the side and you have a feast for a fraction of a cost. Just make sure to come early as it runs out pretty quickly.
Great pub!! Friendly staff.... Couldn't really ask for more, I had a Beef Yorkshire pudding dinner - which was very good indeed, and the Yorkshire pudding was legit... And that's coming from an actual Yorkshireman!! A teeny bit on the more expensive side, but it's absolutely worth it for the extra few bucks you might spend.
The entrees, amazing.. the prawns and the loaded garlic bread cheese and bacon were bang on, hot and yummy. They may have come out a bit slower but with the awesome flavors, took away any impatience that we have had beforehand. When our meals came out, i was given the wrong order and was quickly rectified but the staff member who went back and in minutes, had the right order, this did not damper the experience in any way.nMy partner ordered the butter chicken hes usually steak only kind of guy and he enjoyed his meal and it tasted great, but my lamb was the opposite of his butter chicken.nIt felt underdone texture wise, but i dont know what to look for in lamb but i know it was not like the lamb i have had a year or two ago.nI ordered chips with it and was confused when it came out with a small ramekin of peas.. what a weird combination. The lamb was tasteless as if, there was no seasoning at all or the lamb wasn't showing any kind of normal flavor, if i had mushroom sauce i would only have tasted the sauce and nothing else, but i chose garlic butter.nWho ever gave me garlic margarine needs to have the container thrown at them. You can never substitute garlic butter when offereing to customers.. if it was a cheap whipped butter, stop buying it like that and make your own. The lamb meal is heavily overprices for the size and lack of anything. Why did it come with peas and not a salad or even roasted vegetables. Peas means it is, like your not even trying or the chefs hands are tied and can not change the menu. What ever it is, something needs to change for this meal asit is blan, plan and not quality or quality.
Nice and warm on a Sunday night, Partners sirloin steak was cooked perfectly and the fish I had was fresh and the crumb was deliciously crunchy and the apple and blue berry crumble was a tasty way to finish.nCheers
Popped in for lunch and overall a great experience. Food and service was good. Great value.
