Claybright Underglazes are precisely formulated give consistently reliable results. They are the underglaze paint of choice in most New Zealand ceramic painting studios and are easily managed by absolute beginners. They have excellent shelf-life, are easy to apply. They adhere strongly to bisque or greenware without dusting or smudging and give bright and reliable results. The product is formulated in two versions to accommodate the different needs of users. Claubright Underglazes will work well on most clay bodies including Primo Clays.
Claybright Underglaze paints are thixotropic and when aggitated with a brush, stirred or shaken they change from their gel state to a fluid and easily brushed liquid.
A range of colour intensities can be developed by adding additional layers of paint - usually up to a maximum of 3 coats.
Claybright underglazes may be covered with a clear glaze such as Abbots Clear or left unglazed. In this case a range of dry, velvet or satin textures may result varying with firing temperature.
Claybright Underglazes may be used at temperatures between 1000C and 1280C.
They are non-toxic and food-safe.
Claybright 3-D effects
6 of the brightest colours including black and white are offered in this form. They are ideal for writing, trailing and dotting and outlining. These are supplied in 100ml spouted bottles.
