I’ve been to a few gyms, but CityFitness Lower Hutt has to be one of the worst. The entire place constantly smells terrible, no matter what time of day you go. It’s like they never clean properly or fix the ventilation. On top of that, the staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. Instead of creating a welcoming environment, they seem uninterested and unwilling to assist. Definitely not worth the membership, there are way better options elsewhere.
Very limited array of machines. Nothing seemed clean, machines had dust and grime on them. So many broken or half functioning machines. So de-motivating.
The members hold is absolutely bull shit now.nChanging someone who has been using your gym for 5 plus years a fee because they are injured is bad business.nI will just cancel my membership because the lower hutt city fitness has literally gone to shit, the bathrooms are disgusting, every time I go.nI hope the cleaner is getting payed well.....
Elderly lady workers behaviour is absolutely abhorrent. Discriminating against school kids and threatening to terminate membership because of substitute footwear only offense Perhaps a kinder and more understanding approach would be more effective. For the time being I will go to Upper Hutt as to not endure this nonsense.
Absolutely love this gym! Friendly staff, great equipment, and their classes are awesome. I love their yoga and Pilates instructors - they are so knowledgeable and great at teaching! It’s also a spacious building with different rooms and in a great location. Really glad I chose to get a membership here when I was looking.
