I really love hanging out in this place, good coffee and some snacks, and great books! Own a card by registering online and verifying thru even a copy from your phone only to the staff and borrow 30 books per day! Awesome cafe, great play area, great organisation of books. Whether you’re a student or having busy life or a bad day at work or anything, this is one of the best place to relax if u want a quite place with good vibes of books and the aroma and taste of coffee There lemoncake is awesome

Nice place, good fruit and veg well priced, good coffee, the musicians were great, friendly people, enough parking, and the apricot slice was amazing!
Dont do libraries often but this it would seem is a good one, definately a place of tranquility, a room full of thought provoking information, some of it fictional while much of it factual. A great place to people watch, enjoy a coffee/tea from the cafe or something from the fridge. If that does not spin your wheels take the time to sit, reflect or maybe just chat to the person sitting next to you. There is a public City Council Office just inside the main doors, plenty of computer stations, even got toilets. It's a great community meeting place with plenty of parking.

This is an amazing opportunity for the whole family to spend time browsing through the books , taking time to meander. Magazines, books, computers, cafés, what more can one need. Also a wonderful setting alongside the river, take a breather and walk around
Souths Library has always served me well & while I now use the Halswell library I still enjoy visiting South in Colombo st. There is a good selection of books , there are computers & a printer or two for those who need them & a council counter for those who need assistance with whatever. If you want to plonk urself down there are comfy seats all over the place & down the far end of the library there are seats & tables. If you get hungry there is a cafe that sells tucker of all sorts, you'll have to ask what they have. Now getting back to the library, the staff are very helpful & very knowledgeable & will do their darnedest to assist you with that problem title. Parking is pretty good but sometimes it's not lol. All up it's a place to be enjoyed so settle down with a book or a puzzle & forget about life in the fast lane for a while .
