Had an amazing night at Casa Nova House. Katrina was a fabulous host and really made us feel welcome. The house is just beautiful, as was the room. We were very comfortable and had a beautiful night away. Highly recommend.

Fabulous fabulous fabulous although part of me doesn't want to share this so it doesn't reduce our chances of getting a table. Perfect setting, delicious food with amazing flavours and loved the peach bomb. Top marks team thanks for an enjoyable evening.

We loved the all round experience - and Oamaru - so much, and ended up staying an extra night. Nothing was too much trouble for Brenda and Katrina who were so friendly and went above and beyond to make everything we wanted to do happen. We would thoroughly recommend Casa Nova. This is a review of the Restaurant 1861 which is inside Casa Nova house and is a new incarnation of an old favourite venue many in Oamaru have fond memories of, from 10 or more years back. Now run by new owners who have spent a lot of time and expense bringing the venue back to its former glory. Restaurant 1861 serves gourmet tapas. And these are a big step above the usual offerings that tapas may bring to mind. They are smaller dishes but each one is perfectly presented with a taste to match. When looking at the menu Its easy to go overboard and order too many things because everything looks interesting and you want to try as many things from the menu in one go. Best to order fewer dishes and enjoy them as a group. They have an extensive wine list and offer a range of cocktails as well as beer, cider and non alcoholic drinks. I've eaten here twice in the short time since they opened. And I'm going back again soon.

Wanting something very special for my 65th birthday and having read of the restoration of this amazing HISTORIC HOMESTEAD my wife and I booked the venue for a private function and overnight stay and were totally blown away from the moment we arrived by our hosts and their hospitality, exceptional service, amazing food, glorious surroundings and much more. The accommodation is luxurious and we were thrilled to have friends from throughout the the South Island arrive and be totally enamored. Many many Thanks Jane and Pip
