My daughters have been going here and it helps improve skills really well
It used to be OK until they moved premises and it went downhill from there. My daughter used to love gymnastics and was all she would talk about and practice handstands etc, however, her experience with Capital Gymnastics ruined that joy permanently. The coaches seem inexperienced and lesson after lesson I would watch as the young female coaches just focused on one or two kids who constantly called out for attention and my daughter and the handful of others in the group would be completely ignored for 45 mins. Week after week I watched as my daughter just walked around the apparatus she felt were too hard, confusing or there were no coaches to provide support and basically just just left to figure things out on her own which meant just repeating one basic thing over and over to look like and feel like she was participating. The coaches seemed to have zero experience how to manage those kids who demand constant attention. Parents were discouraged from watching and expected to leave preferably and the caoches were not accessible after or before classes to address my concerns. Just a horrible experience. Also after 2 yrs attending they only ever gave her 1 certificate but other kids got them every term, while my kid attended almost every week including online over Covid. Perhaps if they paid attention to who was in their classes and not just the 1 or 2 attention hogging kids they would see all the kids who just desperately want to be part of this sport even if just recreationally. I cannot recommend this gym, the lack of supervision and actual instruction and oversight is neglectful.
Good Sessions for kids to flex their muscles and Coaches are really child friendly and show patience while training
I signed my 6 year old son upto the school holiday programme and yesterday he was being shown what to do and because he wasn’t sure how to do it he asked 1 of the coaches by the name of Johnny and Johnny became angry at my son for not knowing how to do it so Johnny forcibly grabbed hold of my son’s wrist with both hands and picked him up by 1 arm with his feet clear off the floor and carried my son about 15-20 feet to the bench in the corner and told my son he will have to have a time out and think about what he’s done! He could of seriously hurt my son’s arm. My son is devastated he was treated like that when all he did was ask a question because he wasn’t sure how to do it. I have always taught my son that if you aren’t sure then ask, and that’s all he did. Johnny is nothing more then a bully and I put my son into that programme hoping he would be in safe hands and I am totally disgusted by the way they treat kids when it’s meant to be just a fun activity. We are escalating this issue with the police as we have had no response from the manager.
We just had our last week in the old venue before the club moves downstairs. While the big open floor has been great, I'm looking forward to seeing how kids are able to use the new space.
