"Located in the Huakaiwaka visitor centre with stunning views over the Gardens, this is a great place to meet friends and family. Our unique garden setting, skilled chefs and friendly service staff make Café Miko an ideal venue for a relaxed breakfast, lunch or a barista coffee. We do more than serve fresh, vibrant food, we strive to reduce our carbon footprint by sourcing as much home-grown produce as possible, starting with fresh produce from the Edible Garden right on our door step. We also compost much of our green waste and coffee grinds within the Gardens. Our goal is to be sustainable in our practice, supporting the ethos of the Auckland Botanic Gardens."

Very busy on the weekend, great indoor and outdoor sitting that suits all weather. Food was good, some good choices between cooked and cabinets food. Interestingly large size coffee come in a bowl cup without the handle...
Great cafe at Botanical Gardens! Quiche and flat white was total 18 dollars and it was worth it. If you seat on the terrace seat maybe some birds wanna join your table btw.
The view on a sunny day is a stunner. That’s all that was good about this place unfortunately. I ordered the fish & chips priced at about $22 and what I got was a massive disappointment. I essentially got what appeared to be 2 battered fish from Sealords, a small basket of chips and what was advertised as a salad. I also ordered two fried eggs at $3 a pop. Salad - two small pieces of lettuce/two pieces of grated carrot and a single slice of cucumber - no dressing 2 fried eggs - egg whites partially raw It didn’t taste bad I guess, but at $25 odd dollars I would expect a far higher standard. Service was averages at best, but I guess hospo is struggling for staff so my rating doesn’t take that into consideration. If I was to go in here again, which I would be very hesitant about, it would be for a take away coffee nothing more.
Lovely lunch, service was great. Didn't have to wait to long for our meals. Kid-friendliness: Highchair available Parking: At Manurewa Gardens
It took ages to order, like 10 minutes. They served the coffee first. Not very hot and one in a takeaway cup. After 15 minutes I had to chase up a scone and danish. 5 minutes later chased up again. However no chips. When I went up the first time I could see chips waiting. 25 minutes later I had to go up and ask again. Specify said don't give me the chips off the counter, they will be cold and old. They said they were just replaced and hot. But no. Served 25 minutes old cold chips. So really a professional looking place. But my experience is a zero all round.
Went to Cafe Miko when I went on a holiday couple weeks back. And just kept remembering how good of an experience I had going here. The food and the staff were lovely. I got served by a absolutely lovely short hair girl and she made me feel really welcomed in the cafe. Really looking forward to coming back my next visit!
A nice view of the Botanic Gardens with dog friendly seating outside. Coffee is great but food is not my favourite. Eggs on eggs benedict were overdone last time for both orders and lacked presentation overall. Might be better now but I couldn't be bothered trying again. Can get very, very busy during lunch time and on weekends hence but nice and peaceful other times.
A sad food experience for a ridiculous price point. Safe to say we wont be back at this cafe for the food. They have seemed to been short-staffed since over a year ago, service is awfully slow, food is below average, the only good thing here is the packaged juice, and coffee. We came here so we could sit with our dog outside and have some food, but its just not worth it! Vegetarian options: Had none apart from wedges and fries.. how disappointing
Been twice in the last couple of weeks. Outstanding service from all staff we encountered and food flavoursome and well presented each time. Worth the wait. Thanks for a pleasant experience. Ingrid
I've been here a few times but the food is gping downhill fast. Our meals were cold and pretty stodgy. My eggs were cold and a broken yoke .. still served ... why? One person had tea served but it tasted of coffee... cup replaced but obviously using coffee maker for hotvwater and failure to keep spout clean between serves the cafe standards are hard to discern. This is a blue ribbon site and needs to be supported by a good cafe ... not this one.
