First time I've been to Cafe Medici, but will definitely be going back. My go to dish when trying a new cafe or restaurant is always the salt and pepper squid if it's on the menu, it was and I wasnt disappointed. The crispy salt and pepper squid was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The accompanying salad was delicious, and a great portion size as well. If this isn't the chefs signature dish it should be!! Great selection of indoor and outdoor seating with easy access. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive.
I always try to go to this cafe when I visit Martinborough. Lovely arty interior decor and vibe, great coffee and tasty food. I had the Buddha Bowl which was so divine using fresh vegetables and beautful house-made beetroot hummus and tahini. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of the dish. Also had the most amazing salted caramel slice from their counter. But what made this particular visit excellent was the lovely friendly customer service we received from the owner's daughter. She was so lovely, interesting and chatty. Highly recommended.
This place is amazing. I had the steak sandwich and my wife had the chicken halumi salad. We were both thrilled with our selections. The steak was perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and a very large portion. I have been trying to eat better...but trust me... don't skip the fries. They are delicious. Not only was the food excellent, but the service was to notch as well. Lots of nice choices in Martinborough, but put this on the top of your list.
We are never disappointed when we visit this lovely cafe. This time we had the slow cooked lamb roast. It was delicious. It would have been nice to have some greens to go with the roast vegetables. The waiting staff are all young students and the service was impeccable.
Had breakfast here on a Sunday morning. It was very busy but the staff were friendly and efficient and the food came in a reasonable time. I had a couple of long black coffees - the first one was barely drinkable and the second a bit better but still not great - my companion agreed... To be fair we are Coffee Supreme people and the coffee looked well made but tasted not so good. A big tick for me is that a staff member noted that I didn't finish the first coffee and spoke to the barrista after my comments - pity they didn't knock it off the bill. Cool place though
Had the most delicious crispy squid salad. With separate sauce. Most if the ladies in our group had the club sandwich and they mostly managed to eat it all up. Some left a little. One lady had the chowder and one the prawns. Everybody enjoyed their choice very much. Hot drinks were hot and cold drinks, refreshingly cool. Service was good. Definitely a revisitable cafe.
Lovely breakfast! The food came out really fast which was great. The coffee was ok, I would highly recommend getting the coffee right as this was the only let down for me. Otherwise a lovely setting and friendly staff, the gentlemen serving us was nice but a bit more confidence goes a long way to making customers feel welcome as it felt awkward. Food 4.5 Coffee 3.5
Ordered a iced chocolate and club sandwich. Both were sooo good! Especially the sandwich. Nicely presented and very generous portion. I couldn’t finish it but it was soooo yum. Definitely will be back!
Slow service, 50 minutes to get our food. The food was great though.
A great lunch out. Great variety of food. Beautifully presented.Food: 5/5
