Called in on the way back to Auckland - Bryce is super friendly and knows the gear he sells really well! Pretty excellent selection of anything climbing.

Very clean and tidy accommodation including a nice shared lounge and kitchen area. Perfect for big groups or families, the rooms are basic but can accommodate up to 6 people, and are flexible enough for just 1 or 2. Rooms include a radiant heater which is adequate. It's the closest accommodation to the best rock climbing crags and Bryce is friendly and full of knowledge and recommendations handy for beginners. The store is well stocked with nice gear at reasonable prices. Rental gear also available. Sadly the cafe and bouldering cave are no longer there since being destroyed in a fire a few years back.

Bryce has always been super-helpful, and straight up with his product recommendations. If he doesn’t think a particular item is quite right for you, he’ll say so, which is excellent. Highly recommended. Also, a great place to visit for Metolius boards, or your boulder pad needs.

Bryce's climbing shop is a must stop for any rock climbers in the area. Bryce is very knowledgeable of the equipment, the techniques and the local walls; as well as helpful with finding the right gears. Great place, great selection and great chats!

Bryce have this very well equipped store, just right next to one of the most popular crags in North island. Besides he knows all the betas for the region and if you call him, the best and more accurate weather report.

We went to the shop to rent a boulder crash pad, this was/is highly overpriced 25 $Nzd / day! I think he just knows there is no other shop that rent crash pads. I found the shop owner really rude. I know business is business but he could have been nicer. We were travelling with a one year old and he even deny us water and told us to go get it to the town school. Even he had told us several times he lives next door. Very disappointed.

Bryce is the kind of guy that'd help anyone. I had no idea that he's a Pioneer of the sport around these parts. High quality gear at fairly reasonable prices too.
