An amazing stone bridge with an archway built to remember our fallen ANZAC soldiers. The bridge crosses the Avon river in the heart of Christchurch city and has lots to see and do nearby including shopping, eating, drinking and sightseeing. There are some very big fish and eels in the river and you can feed them from the steps next to the bridge.
The bridge of remembrance crosses the Avon river in the heart of Christchurch city center. The main city buzz starts from here. These is always some event going on most of the weekend throughout summer. There are definitely lots to see and do nearby including shopping, eating, drinking and sightseeing. In the Avon river, there are some very big fish and eels can be seen through clear water. There is option to feed the eels from the steps next to the bridge.
A very large and imposing structure over the river. It is quite easy to spot once you're near the river. It is worth the walk over just to admire it's size and its importance.
The heart of christchurch. It can be reached on foot and many restaurants and bar nearby. I visited at autumn time with beautiful yellow leaves round the city.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
One of the most beautiful bridge i've ever seen. The Bridge of Remembrance is one of two main war memorials in Christchurch, New Zealand. It is dedicated to those who died in World War I, and serves as a memorial for those who participated in two World Wars as well as subsequent conflicts in Borneo, Korea, Malaya, and Vietnam
Cool bridge remembering lost ones from NZ. Nice area to pass a little time
Nice memorial. Entrance to the shopping and restaurant area. Pretty river views.

Located in the heart of the city, the bridge is a symbol of remembrance and a testament to the courage and bravery of the men and women who fought for New Zealand's freedom. The bridge itself is a beautiful piece of architecture, with intricate stonework and a graceful arch spanning the Avon River. The central arch is adorned with symbolic carvings and plaques, including the words "Lest We Forget" in bold letters. The bridge is flanked by two striking statues of soldiers, standing guard and paying their respects.
