BDSC is a Co-educational state school in East Auckland, New Zealand. We welcome International Students and NZ students who live in our school zone.

Story

Botany Downs Secondary College has more than 130 International students who come to New Zealand to study at a High School for 3 months to 5 years. This page is for our International Students - to celebrate their successes and the fun times and to give them a forum to keep in touch with each other and with what is happening at school. Students and families who may be overseas and thinking of studying in New Zealand are free to post their questions and we will answer them. BDSC is proud of our international whanau (extended family) and we love to keep in touch with our current students, future students and alumni.

Don’t fall for all them lies by the 1 starers this school is alight.

Absolutely trash school, the environment is ok, but there is too much litter everywhere, like think about the turtles. The staff there is alright but my grandson has been coming to me a war veteran and asking how to deal with these insecure bullies that were beating him up on the field. He said the teachers do nothing about it as they seem scared of him big polynesian guy. He also has started to vape, which I have personally told him not to do, but he does it anyways, as there are kids in the toilets' vaping and he got asked if he wanted to try and now he's addicted. How I would solve these issues is to have more stricter teachers enforcing the rules of the school and actually following their motto "Maximising achievement through intellectual growth" by teaching them properly. My granddaughter smart kid she is complains that different teachers teach different things, like they teach the same subject eg. Trigonometry but different teachers teach different ways to solve it and it gets confusing. My grandson again, has also said he went to the 'lead students' whatever they do and asked them for help to solve the bulling issues but they just laughed and ignored him. Very disappointing from this school with great potential.
