Booth College of Mission exists to prepare people for the realities of ministry in The Salvation Army; to equip them to live and work as servants of Christ throughout Aotearoa New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga; and to inspire them to engage as partners with the triune God in mission and ministry that transform our nations.
We prepare people through training that promotes critical engagement with the Bible and our world through coursework and inquiry-based learning in the classroom and online; through practical mission and ministry; and through living out the values of the gospel in community.
We equip people by providing the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, spirit and character for Christian mission and ministry and by being at the forefront of conversations about how The Salvation Army can best partner with God in transforming our nations while building on the foundation of our theology, our history and our heritage.
We inspire people to actively and effectively engage in caring for those in their community, transforming lives through encounter with God, and reforming our nations through influencing policies, societal attitudes and corporate groups towards that which brings hope, wholeness and life.
Booth College of Mission does all of this through quality research, training and education that provide both content and delivery according to developments in the educational field in partnership with other like-minded providers, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. This will include education, practical work and patterns for spiritual formation that develop a ‘blood and fire’ spirit, deepening of faith, and capable leadership in those called to minister in The Salvation Army. In order to sustain this, we maintain quality facilities and resources; through providing exemplary management, strategy, community life and missional orientation; and through providing a hub for ongoing
learning, development and innovation for leaders in The Salvation Army. We will review our content and delivery regularly in order to better understand and align with key outcomes for all stakeholders.
