Story

The Bon Accord Backpackers is community minded hostel in beautiful Akaroa, on the Banks Peninsula. Dorms, private rooms, a cottage, and a couple of one room garden shacks are the accommodation options, with fancy names like: Tiki, Paua, Koru and Love Shack.
Enjoy FREE WIFI. Very friendly staff make your stay unforgettable. A large garden with picnic tables and a barbecue is a great spot to meet people and make new friends! DVDs to watch on rainy days. Feel free to cook with our fresh garden herbs or grab a delicious coffee or hot chocolate out of our machine.
There are heaps of fun activities around, such as: dolphin swimming, kayaking, surfing, horse treks, sailing, mountain walking and fishing - everybody will enjoy! Akaroa is a very friendly and sunny place with a stunning beach and waterfront combined with the best food in town (e.g.fish and chips) you have ever tasted.

Old and dirty rooms in the house, poor bathroom facilities, unbearably hot in the double room and bunk room in summer, noise and cigarette smoke from bar next door if window open. Dont spend your hard earned money to stay here.
We've booked that place because of the nice photos and the good reviews online but it is nothing like it. The rooms are very smelly, the lady/ the owner offered us a discounted price for the room because of the smell. No eftpos, cash only. We didn't end up staying.
Dirty shower and bathroom facilities. Room was good as was location but take your sandals for shower
It does the job but one or two night maximum, the place is a bit old and rusty.
Great place to stay yes it an old place a work in progress good shower and good stuff. For all u whinging people is not the Ritz.
Basic but has what you need. Reception shuts early so we didnt get any internet which was annoying but apart from that it was fine.
Nice Place to stay for a night and more, especially if you like it clean!
