Warm and very homely venue. With lots of lovely areas to relax and enjoy a drink and a meal. Avi the chef cooked our dinner tonight. A big thick Scotch Fillet steak medium/rear to juicy perfection, Best in TA. Mushrooms and mash were divine along with fresh salad. Definitely going back there again. Kid-friendliness: Te Awamutu RSA is a family friendly venue. Parking: Easy parking everywhere around and close to this venue. Wheelchair accessibility: Suitable for wheelchair access.
Have been for dinner here a few times, honestly hoping it may improve. Never the full menu, even on quiet nights. No entrees. No desserts. 5 basic mains. The RSA so nothing flash, and that's okay, but why so slow? Last time we were still waiting after an hour in a relatively quiet club so I watched the kitchen staff just to try to figure out what's going on. Incredibly inefficient to the point it was painful to watch. 2 - 4 meals at a time with 5 clearly disinterested staff. If they can't be bothered, that's fine. We'd planned on transferring our club membership. Won't bother now.
We had a great meal, thanks . The team was shortstaffed but pulled everything together well. Good atmosphere with lots of smiling faces. Well done allFood: 5/5
Food is typically the norm and if you don't feel hungry at 5 or 6 oclock you will have a big wait and then A.they will run out of food or B.they will forget your food ..but all and all greatFood: 4/5
Been here several times found food to be good quality and price.Went to restaurant for lunch on Monday 19th Dec was closed when we arrived RSL staff rang chef to see where he was only to be told he was not opening today
Was told had to wait 45minutes to order and they had just served someone before we went to order. Not a good look for out of town visit
I would like to acknowledge my thanks and appreciation to the chef Savi and also lovely Vardia who works behind the bar. Savi you had served such beautiful hot roast meals to my whanau and myself followed by choices of desserts for lunch on Saturday 4th June. We thoroughly enjoyed and was satisfied with what we had, no complaints. You had done such a wonderful job especially when you had worked on your own cooking and serving for 50. I am thrilled my whanau helped by bringing their used plates to the kitchen, take their glasses to the bar and stayed back to help tidy up afterwards to make it a little easy for you. Vardia thankyou for having the jugs of fruit juice and softdrink I ordered ready for the tables when we arrived. Awesome service and great hospitality. So welcoming and relaxing. I couldn't ask for more. You are both lovely people and I am delighted to have met you both. Also thankyou for letting me book lunch at the Te Awamutu RSA for that special day I will be making regular visits to Te Awamutu from Auckland so I will call again to say hello and return for another meal. Regards Sherill xx
Lovely little place for a quiet meal and a drink . Friendly staff, an very nice meal
Had the most delicous pork belly for dinner, Kev had the lamb roast and Lor had the scallops wrapped in bacon. They both enjoyed very much.
Even after a major power cut for several hours, the chef made sure my mothers 70th birthday was a success :- Food was amazing! While most of the other shops were closed all around town, these guys made it work! Thanks guys would recommend.
