Great location, the team are really friendly and helpful as we wanted to move sites to give our puppy more room. Facilities are older but perfectly clean and great water pressure. We enjoyed watching the traffic on the bridge and surprised how quiet the road noise is. Ended up staying a second nightService: 5/5
No idea why rated so low. Immaculate accommodation, we had kitchen unit. The shared bathrooms spotless. Shared Kitchen seemed to be people not cleaning up after themselves not that hard guys There was a fan in unit - thank you! Location brilliant and really quiet. Great playground and pool too! From what I could see there was a drive to another area but didn't see that but area around reception no issues at all, felt safe as a woman and a mother
Campground facilities were very dated, and not many toilet and showers in each shower block. This meant having to queue up at times. My wife had a nice shower but my shower didn't drain away properly so I had to stand in a tray full of water. It was quite clean though.
Beds so uncomfortable can feel all the springs. Had a cabin with a kettle and toaster but no cups, plates etc, hard to make a hot drink without cup. Fridge was not cold enough and smelt bad, definitely needs a clean. Only positive was a good location for where I needed it to be.Rooms: 1/5
The amenities we used were very dated but were very clean. The staff were friendly. We stayed on a powered site in the lower area away from the main highway over bridge so the noise was not that bad. Slept well. Has a good dump station for motorhomers. This is a good stopover if coming off or waiting for the Picton ferries. Friendly bunnies also.
For vacation/camping, this place is ok but not great compared to other campsites we stayed in in New Zealand. You can walk to the downtown area, but it is on a busy road. If you are doing a bus or bike wine tour it is fine, but do not expect much from the site itself.Rooms: 2/5
The room was good, clean beds, heater, fridge the shared toilets are clean and there is shower, but it might be cold so would recommend rooms with bathroom inside. On the reception u can get ice or med-kitRooms: 4/5
We booked two rooms and they weren't next door to each other! We told them we were bringing dogs in cars and no mention of a bond till we turned up at $150!! Said they'd need to inspect room next day but as we'd be gone by the time they open that want going to happen. We got bond back Saturday night. We also had ants and cockroaches in our rooms and they seemed unconcerned about that. Very slow on reception... maybe a new person. Best part was Roccos awesome restaurant over the road. Rooms: Ants and cockroaches. Beds very comfy. Didn't have a can opener! Nearby activities: Roccos restaurant fabulous.
Stayed in the backpackers lodge which was basic but well equipped. The beds in my room were ancient and very saggy. It was lucky I was on my own because 2 people would have had a very uncomfortable night on the double.Rooms: 3/5
Good location. Big spaces and green, close to the river. Small amenities block 2 showers and 3 toilets 1 toilet didn't have toilet paper from the afternoon to the following lunch. Which given the camp was packed meant a few times had to que for bathroom/shower. Bit otherwise all good.Location: 4/5
