Great place for Indian vegetarian food...Extremely consistent in taste, portion & quality and has good value for money too. Everything we have tried has been great, tastes like back home and fresh. Never any issue. Only issue is the gentleman at the counter; directly rude and obnoxious. Gets flustered every time his restaurant is busy - My tip - go to order when he is not at the counter - his daughter I think is the opposite; sweet, welcoming and respectful. Would def recommend the place; despite the owners shortcoming, the food is worth checking the place out. Thanks to the servers & the Chefs for maintaining quality & smiling.
It was extremely worst experience happened with us. Right now we ask dinning for our family but a lady owner said that the dinning is full and she did not said that we can provide in waiting time in 15 mins later or something. In addition, we clicked the picture and people can see that the dinning is easily available. Don't waste time guys. We came from palmerston north by our one friend recommended this restaurant. Which is very bad experience. Waste of time, waste of money.

Unfortunately, my recent visit to this Indian restaurant was a letdown. While I was hoping for a warm and enjoyable dining experience, the service turned out to be the worst part of the evening.nnFrom the moment we arrived, the staff seemed disinterested and dismissive. Simple requests were met with rude responses, and there was a clear lack of basic courtesy. It felt like we were an inconvenience rather than valued customers.nnI didn’t expect 5-star service, but a little respect and professionalism go a long way—especially in hospitality. No matter how good the food might be and it was just okay, the attitude of the staff ruined the entire experience.nnDefinitely not a place I’d recommend, and I won’t be returning.nn 1/5 – For the food alone, because the service deserves zero.
Yesterday I bought sweets from Bikaner petone. I ask the counter guy i want variety sweets in 2 packs, I got medium box and small box, in the medium box he pack 1 sort of things and small box he pack another one type of sweet. I clearly told him made it a variety box. Also I was number 2 in line, but this counter person said to me what's your order i came to the side to tell him what are the sweets I need and he just went and took order from the lady behind me and later he told me she knew what are the things to order and now you are number 3 in line. I had to wait there for 15-20 minutes for this stupid order, and their service was horrible. Also Jelebi said 5 for $5 i both 2packs of jalebi 10 jalebi in each paper bag which should cost me $20 he charged me $23 and said this will cost me cheaper. How does $23 is less then $20. I spent a lots there $74. The only reason I went there so I can give nice sweets to my 2 friends but this counter guy just spoiled it. I was so disappointed with his service and packing. I just wanted variety of sweets pack for me and I told him what sweets I wanted in each boxes. He just follow a simple instruction. I am not going to Bikaner anymore I would rather drive extra 20 minutes to Snacks and Sweets in Newtown, at least whenever I ask them what I want they delivery it for me. I don't recommend BIKANER PETONE to anyone. I would rather give 0 star to them.
