The menu is relatively concise with a limited selection, yet thoughtfully curated and focused on wholesome, healthy options.nnThe dishes feel clean and nourishing, paired nicely with fragrant basmati rice. The small portion was slightly underwhelming for my appetite, while the medium portion was perfectly balanced and just right.
Great food! Very tasty and fresh. You get to choose your portion size and food items between meat, carb and salad, all very flavourful. It is normally very crowded so might be hard to get a table but they do takeaways as well and you can bring your own container. Absolutely recommended!
I was eyeing this shop the whole time at wanaka as the way how they serve the food was interesting concept here.nYou get to choose from 3 kinds of plate size and each plate also you various options.nSmall - 4 options $17nMedium - 5 options $24nLarge - 6 options $31nYou get to choose 1 meat and then salad and vegetables, very vegetarian friendly too!nnWe got the meat balls and grilled chicken and I must say the vege selection impressed me, the grilled broccoli has to be the crowd favorite as everyone ordered that and it did not disappoint at all, chargrilled to perfection, drizzle with some harissa yogurt dressing it was heavenly. Carrots was flavorful and sweet, they also have pilaf rice, chickpea stew and grilled potatoes to choose from.nnWhile the salad sides were awesome too, love the broccoli salad didn’t know you can eat raw broccoli this way too! chick pea salad w celery and apple carrot slaw just tasted so tangy and great with the meat and hot vege dishes.nnWe opt to bring our food to the lake just right opposite where there are loads of seatings or just like us sit on the grass while soaking in the vibes. Beware of the seagulls and ducks coz they get close to you fast!nHave a gelato ice cream right after it and it is a perfect meal with perfect scenery looking at lake wanaka.
I’m a local and a frequent customer, and I was really disappointed by my experience tonight. The brunette staff member who served me around 7pm on Tuesday 6 Jan appeared disengaged and unable to provide attentive service, repeatedly yawning and seeming distracted during the interaction.nnI also received a noticeably small portion half a “tong” worth, despite just getting salads, which felt out of line with both the price and my past experiences here.nnI usually enjoy Big Fig and recommend it, which is why this stood out. I’d appreciate management following up with me with contact details, as I’d like to understand what happened and see this addressed.
I love this concept. The food was delicious, and being able to construct the perfect meal was such a treat. I only eat small portions, so had the chicken and one serving of kumara gratin so good! for dinner, and asked for a double serve of lentils in a takeaway container to hang for breakfast. Lovely service. Beautiful kai. Will priced and accommodating : Oh, and the sticky date pudding - it was outrageous in its glory! Abd soda water on tap :
