One of the most amazing things I learnt from the Bees Up Top bee keeping course was that honey bees won't sting unless they are provoked or feel threatened. Throughout the bee keeping course day, I handled more bees than I’ve seen in my entire life and didn’t get stung once! I just couldn’t believe that after years of worrying that a bee would sting me automatically as it landed on me this wasn’t the case at all! If you are brave enough if you do get stung, you can wait for the bee to wriggle itself free from your skin or you can try to remove the sting and the bee together. This way the stinging sac doesn’t detach and the bee can live to see another day!
