Lovely atmosphere and selection of food. I recommend the fish basket and berry smoothie, although their pastries/custards are delicious as well. Beware. If you eat outside you must be constantly vigilant of the flying albino rats.Food: 5/5
Mōrena, today's Brunch was at Beach Cafe & Bar at Tahunanui Beach. What a cracker of a morning to sit out in the sun and enjoy some scrumptious kai and kāwhe and watch the odd plane fly overhead. The Bacon Rosti was delicious, the kāwhe hit the mark and the mango smoothie... yum. GR8 place for Brunch or Lunch.
This little Cafe is amazing. Lunchtime rush very very busy, but you didn't have to wait to long before your food was brought out to you. Very tiny kitchen, but the flow of food was well managed. They have an amazing menu really mouth watering and the pricing is really affordable. The staff there are awesome. Would recommend this cafe to everyone, You go wrong with this great little cafe. Kid-friendliness: It is in a area where children do play, so is in the right place Parking: It is in the right area for parking, close to the beach, volleyball courts and a couple of kiddies play groups, just depends on what you are doing and where you have parked.
Lovely location and service was brilliant. We came in for breakfast and enjoyed our meal. Staff are lovely and friendly. Lots of interesting veggie options on the menu. Will definitely return next time we are in Nelson. Vegetarian options: Quite a variety of veggie options especially for breakfast.
Closed for winter season! Sad to find this place closed when we tried to visit for lunch on Sunday. Was pretty rough as we'd travelled there with young kids and it was our last outing before we had to fly home thought it would be a great location given playground nextdoor. On arriving discovered it is actually closed temporarily for winter season. Understand everyone needs a break, but would be great if the open hours on google maps were updated. 3 stars as I hope to be back again to actually have lunch.
Chai latte and wedges very nice but most impressive was the service of waiting staff. The simple 'enjoy your meal' and then 'enjoy the rest of your day' from the young lad of an age not always expected went a long way. Wife enjoyed her salad and son his morning smoothies over the week. Briefly lost a son's phone left behind one day but Louisa was more than happy to have a look despite being very busy when I rang - thanks Team. 2 min stroll to the beach from the Cafe, toilets attached, outdoor seating available and beach volleyball nets adjacent. All very close to car park.
Didn't have any of the delicious looking food and we were the only people there so difficult to rate the atmosphere but the service was first class and the prices we viewed on the menu were very competitive with every venue we've been to in Nelson. Location is perfect. Looking forward to our next visit. Will take friends with us.Food: 3/5

Hi , I had lunch here today. I had the corn fritters, the were not nice at all. Very disappointed. They were very dry & taste less. I could not finish my meal as they were so awful. Sorry to say I will not be coming back here again.
Absolutely love this place, when we travel from Blenheim always come to this restaurant not only for ourselves but for our four legged family member as well, atmosphere, food and service is well above average.Food: 5/5
