The best experience of my life so far ! I went there to pass my IELTS academic test and I had a 7!! I improved so much with this school. All the teachers are lovely and helpful. The staff even bought me a cake for my birthday! The students are so nice, you can make friends easily. Every Friday afternoon we don’t have class but an activity organized by the school. I did so many activity things like surf, bowling, pool, walk… My host family was awesome!! Also the location is just perfect, in front of a shopping mall, 10min walk to the beach and the bus stop is just in front of the school. And 5 min walk to a great gym with a pool. If you still hesitate for choosing a school, choose this one, you won’t regret!!
My time at Bay Learning was really great. In just three months, my English improved a lot, thanks to the amazing teachers like Dale, Yongja, and Sandy. They weren't just teachers; they became my friends and mentors who were always ready to help. I also want to mention how helpful the administration was to us students. The school has a friendly and encouraging atmosphere. The teachers not only care about the whole group but also really care about each student's personal challenges, making sure we learn well. During the course, I made true friendships that I know will last forever. Bay Learning isn't just a school; it's a place where we support each other and grow together academically. I'm really thankful for my time there.
This school is so friendly and helpful to the students. It's kind of a small language school compared to other ones in big cities though, it means so close to each students and easy to ask some advice on whatever I need. Their school activities on Friday are also good time to enjoy the local life in NZ. If you are the one who love spending time near the beach and green, not in the city with a lot of buildings and people, I really recommend you to chose this school.
Thanks for these 10 beautiful weeks! My main goals were to improve my English and pass my Cambridge C1. I don’t know yet for my exam but I can already say that my English is much better now! Thanks to the lovely team and especially to my teacher Sandy, I’m now able to speak fluently and understand most conversations. My homestay which had been organised by the school, was perfect. My host was lovely and she’s now a part of my family. If you want a quick improvement and to have the feeling that you’re with family, just go to this school!
Liz and her team at Bay Learning Academy are wonderful teachers and mentors. I thoroughly enjoyed studying with them and I felt like I was part of a big multicultural family. The TESOL course is both fun and challenging, so I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to pursue a career in ESOL teaching.
I took the course in November and came back to take a TESOL course which is about teaching English. I've taught English for 3 years in Korea. And with this course, now I realize what I went wrong and what I have to do in my future. Teachers are so kind, nice and they always want to help us. I learned a lot while watching their classes, too. I'm so excited about how I'll change in the future.
Bay Learning is a small but intimate centre for learning English and languages. It has a welcoming and familial atmosphere and its experienced and qualified staff focuses very much on what each individual students need to achieve success.
My advice for this school is to try just one week first before to enroll more.Try different courses, please do it ! If your are looking for a good balance between listing/speaking/grammar/writting and with a native teacher maybe the best option is to take a course face to face. They do not give homeworks and you can not have acces to your test that evaluate your English level before and after...I did not why they do not want to show the test. To all parents, please pay attention to the host family, ask them if they receive enough food, free and unlimited wifi, that the home is warm enough for them especially in winter and also that they are free to have the key I met a student who could not stay in the home when the family were not here. For the kiwi families who want to apply to be a host family in this school please make sure you sign a contract and that they pay you in right time.I know they are busy and they do their best, I wish they will improve some ways like administrative things. For students who are looking activities in NZ and time to share and meet people, it is the right place.

This is the worst english Academy I've ever been at! Teachers are terrible and very rude at the same time! The teachers methodology is poor, they don't even know how to teach! Don't study here unless you want to waste your money and your valuable time!
