Introducing the Artery. The Incubator brings you inspirational art learning opportunities for adults and art space for tutors. Connecting through Art .
A space for Arts learning and participation. A Programme to fill the void left when government funding was withdrawn for adult education classes and give access to sophisticated multi genre arts learning to people who cannot commit to lengthy tertiary courses for financial reason or time constraints.
Classes will include Handformed Pottery, Print Making, Wheel Pottery, Creative Writing, Watercolours & Illustrations and Drawing.
In addition to these creative classes there will be Artistic Development workshops and tutorials in areas such as audience development, social media and building webpages and mentoring in everything from approaching Galleries, exhibiting to financial management .
The space is encouraged for arts practitioners to use to share their skills and to form new connections.
To establish a successful programme of courses that will then be used as a framework to connect the community through arts education and activity.
To nurture artists and encourage their progress as tutors of their practice.
To prove that there is a hunger for this within our city and to use this start series of workshops as research into the best way we can continue to satisfy this need.
To represent the arts as a necessary ingredient of a healthy community , to create enthusiasm, bringing the need for arts to the forefront of our minds rather than dimly hiding in the background. (Behind Sports opportunities)
To make these inclusive opportunities and to be able to offer a range low cost creative workshops that are accessible for anyone in our community and for different levels of experience from beginner to advanced.
Provide bite sized opportunities for members of our community to follow their dreams and passion for various art forms without cost or time restraints being a barrier.
The space, professional tutors and materials will be subsidised where possible so that the workshops are accessible for anyone to attend.
Various time opportunities for courses/workshops from weekdays, weekends to evenings to accommodate people’s busy lives.
Providing an outlet outside of work, family and other responsibilities is in line with the Incubator’s mission to connect the arts community and create cohesion and fellowship.
