Story

Bason Botanic Gardens are located in Whanganui in the Manawatu District of New Zealand. They have been rated as a Garden of Significance by the New Zealand Gardens Trust and offer six themed areas, including one of the most extensive public-garden orchid collections in the country, and the conservatory architecture is considered unique. Much of the development work is conducted by the Bason Botanic Gardens Trust, which collaborates with the City Council.

A must stop! So many indoor gardens with amazing flowers and what not. Lots of bbqs around and lots of green space. Definitely stop by here and check it out.
Beautiful Gardens and interesting history behind them. Always a nice drive out followed by nice walk in the garden and around lake. Well worth return visits.

Lovely gardens with great picnic and BBQ facilities electric hot plate. Great having boiling water available to refill your thermos available in toilet block.
Beautiful quiet peaceful place with gardens that are a credit to all those who maintain them.
I took the bush walk & got lost. Had to back track to find my bearings. This place would be an ideal location for picnics etc in the summer time
